The witness writes:
"The experience I witnessed occurred on February 24, 2008. While it does not appear to be profound to the reader, it was an amazing sight to behold for me.
My wife and I were on a cruise and we were situated some miles West-Southwest of Key West Florida, in open seas. Our balcony faced north and we were enjoying the warm air on it. The sun had just set and some stars became visible, although there were scattered clouds on the horizon. I noticed one star, situated due north, about 45 degrees from the horizon. It appeared to be normal except that it had a rather peculiar yellow glow. It remained there for about twenty minutes and then abruptly began spinning like a pinwheel. It made several revolutions, each circumference being greater than the last and then shot off at an absolutely amazing speed across the horizon, bearing due West. It very briefly appeared above the clouds in the "afterglow" of sunset and appeared to be a copper coloured orb.
This all happened in the space of a few seconds and I was unable to alert my wife to what was going on.
As I say, it may not appear to be the most spectacular of sightings but it made a very profound impression on me. There is no way it could have been a conventional aircraft or anything of the sort."
