Shenandoah National Park, Virginia Frightening Sound/Alien Abduction/Men In BlackDate: Mid 1970's

I also want to say what a great job you have done and how much your efforts are appreciated. As (very) partial repayment, I'm forwarding my one and only significant story. The short version of which involves myself and my best friend from my teenage years (mid-1970's; I'm also an "old" guy...) on a backpacking trip in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, which we did fairly frequently during those years. Two mildly unusual events occurred one evening after dark when we were camped in a very remote off-trail area. In the early evening (just after dark) there was an extremely high amount of static electricity, so much so that we could create persistent "glowing circles" on our insulating sleeping pads by rubbing them rapidly in circles with our hands. At the time, this just seemed pretty 'neat', and we dismissed it (I had never seen this before (or since). While in the tent, a few hours later, maybe 10PM, we had a candle lit and were talking.
Suddenly a sound occurred, close by, that I have tried to best describe as maybe 2 yodelers working in conjunction, sort of slow-modulating a more-rapidly modulated sound up and down (this definitely sounded living, and not mechanically- created). It was so odd that both my friend and I initially started laughing, and then suddenly became terrified (within about a 1 second interval) when we realized that no human (not even 2 professional yodelers) could not have been making the sound we were hearing and that this was not a human or any normal animal for the area (I still remember the rapid expression change from laughter to terror on my friend's face - wish I had a videotape of both of us at that instant - something to laugh about today). Anyway, we immediately blew out the candle and lay quiet. As odd as it sounds, we both then fell asleep after what seemed a fairly short while (no more noises occurred during that time period and I recall we both fell asleep with our knives held in our hands). So far, and for many years, this was the entire story and I thought no more of it, except to try and find out what may have made that sound (I had always assumed an animal, and it still could be.)
Part 2 of this is that my friend's family moved to Florida later that year, and we gradually lost contact with each other for the next several years. I had gone to college and he had sort of drifted all around the U.S., doing everything from odd jobs such as house painting in the South and California to working on ranches in Montana. As I understand it, he did a lot of hitch-hiking to get from place to place and was often camping alone in remote areas during his travels. I spoke with him around 1986 or 1987 after he had returned to Florida and he was a very different person - basically primarily talking about aliens, having been abducted while hitchhiking at night in the desert Southwest, etc. One thing that really was interesting to me in hindsight was that he described in great detail being currently (at that time) watched on multiple separate occasions by the classic 'Men in Black' at his parent's house in Florida, though he was totally unaware of the term at that time or that it was a 'known' phenomena (his voice was shaking when he described them, black car, black suits, sunglasses, sometimes parked on the far side of the street in front of his house). I had read a Budd Hopkins book in the last year or so and actually informed him at that time of the term 'Men in Black' (he had never heard of it) and also told him to look into reading the Hopkins book (I think it was Missing Time). After this time period, we sort of again lost contact and I haven't been in real contact with him since.
Part 3: About 4 or so years ago, his younger brother contacted me primarily for other reasons when he was traveling in my area. The continuation of the above story is that his brother is now completely "unemployable" as he will be apparently fine for short periods but will then go off into seemingly crazy conversations/ discourses about aliens/UFO's, etc. (fine under some circumstances, but not well-received in most workplace environments) . He has also had some health conditions, which may or may not have been correlated to the other experiences.
Part of what has kept me interested in this area is my friend's experience, as well as the continuing, cumulative 'preponderance of evidence' from all the other ongoing reports, sightings, etc. What has made me more recently interested in the early backpacking experience in connection with everything else was, in part, aspects of your 1000 Oaks, California report, in combination with my friends later unfortunate experiences through the years.

Glencoe, Nova Scotia, Canada Bright Blue Object Lights Up The Area

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I never knew exactly what this was and this would be the first time I'm reporting this, but thought that someone might be interested in this, especially since lately UFO sightings have increased by so much.
This was a few years ago and hence I don't remember all the detail, however this is my story. I was by myself, on the way home from visiting who is now my ex girlfriend. It was a clear winter night and we lived out in a very rural area with no street lights, houses, etc.
As I drove around the last few turns before emerging from the wooded windy road, I noticed a very bright blue object in my rear view mirror that was traveling in my general direction. The object passed over head me and as it did, it lit up the area around me in the same bright blue light. As it passed me and disappeared behind the tops of trees, suddenly I could see a very bright blue flash from wherever the object was and then dark, only my cars headlights to illuminate the snow covered road once again.
As I came home about 5 mins later, I told this to my mother who then says that she seen the same thing, but she seen the object travel north bound which is the exact opposite of where I seen it go.
Mind you, this could of been a meteor with debris falling off it and then crashing into ground, hence the flash, but I don't know. And I'm one who believes in UFO's and aliens existence. Either way, someday I'd like to know what it really was.

Sackville, New Brunswick A Black Triangular UFO

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Three friends and I were walking trough the woods of our small rural town one day after school. We decided to go the gravel pit nearby and climb atop one of the huge mounds of gravel which could put us above the above the tree line for a good view. We were sitting atop the gravel pile just chatting and hanging out. As I was looking towards the horizon above the tree-line, I noticed a really big bright white star right on the horizon, or what I thought to be a star at first. Being quite familiar with the sky, this object looked out of place to me. No stars were at this position at this time of the day/month, at this brightness. I looked at it for about a minute, then I brought it to the attention of my 3 friends. Then it started moving up from the horizon bearing north east (to the right), held its position, retaining the same point like, star qualities. It then began moving west, to the left. I remember thinking "heck, this isn't a star, but what kind of craft can do that sort of maneuver, planes and jets have to fly strait and can't stop"
Then it started getting bigger as if it were moving closer and we realized it was coming towards us. For lack of a better word, it "broke" into three lights (I believe the three lights, appeared blurred into one white light, because it as too far for our eyes, and upon coming closer we were able to view it correctly). The craft came directly at us and proceeded to move directly over top of us at an extremely low altitude, at a height I would roughly estimate to be a 100ft. There was no sound. Nothing, no combustion process whatsoever, no exhaust trail. Just what seemed like the sound of an object moving through the air, almost inaudible. It was completely black and I couldn't make out any surface features on the object, except for 3 lights, one on each corner. It slowly flew over and past us. Then it just proceeded to move out of sight at the same speed.
I remember us being completely wild and distraught, stunned and bewildered at what we had seen. I think about this incident quite often, but only now felt compelled to say something about it. If anyone else see has seen such triangle craft in eastern Canada, I'd love to hear about it. Was this advanced military technology, or other-worldly?

Morecambe Lancashire England Bright Light

Description: Standing in my garden I saw a light traveling towards Yorkshire that looked like a commercial plane at high altitude. It then did a perfect 90 degree turn and accelerated south disappearing in less than a second! The best way do describe it would be to say it looked like a commercial plane before the turn and a shooting star after it! PS: I am only coming forward now to add to the sighting in Morecambe over Christmas! There is no way what I saw was a Chinese lantern or a commercial, military or any other kind of aircraft!

I was sitting out the back of my parents house having a chat with the whole family when all off a sudden I saw a green light shoot across the sky quite low, around about the height of landing approach for airplanes. I stood up to get a better look and I told everyone to get up with me, but it had disappeared. The next morning I went online to check if anyone else saw the same thing, but found nothing. That's it.

Coatbridge/North Lanarkshire/ Scotland 12 Red Lights/Objects

Description: My brother and I were in my house, I live in a high rise flat and can see most of lanarkshire from my kitchen window. We spotted a massive bright light in the sky south from us, we watched for a while trying to figure out what it was but could not think of anything logical it could be, it is there a lot now but not every night. I am surprised no one else has reported this as it is very noticeable and is thee most nights still to this day. Also if you look closely at it, it appears to be changing colour every so often.
At the same time this was in the air we also witnessed many other smaller red lights in the air, in about a 15 minute period we seen about 12 of these. they may have been airliners but there were a lot in the sky at one time and sometimes they appeared to be not moving at all.

Thanks, but it is definetly not a balloon I seen, other suggestions have been that it is a satelite reflecting the sun?

Description: My son and I saw the light fairly low in the sky moving towards us as we walked on the common. It moved slowly towards us and we realized it had no flashing lights as a plane would have had and it was totally silent as it passed right overhead. We watched it for about five minutes in total as it crossed the sky. The light was more yellowish than white.
We thought it might have been a Christmas Eve spoof but have found no explanation so far.
TV/Radio: Not reported. No other reports seen in papers.

Description: I too saw the display in Worthing on New Year's Eve. I watched them through binoculars and am certain that someone was letting off 'fire balloons'. They rose in batches, then a few stray singles followed. They were very beautiful and eerie, floating over. The wind currents can make them drift, stop then suddenly shoot off. I think 90% of the 'orange orbs' mentioned round Xmas and New Year are these.
HOWEVER - some might not be! The frequency with which people are reporting probable fire balloons may be the result of an attempt to fuzz the UFO/et issue. But it might have the opposite effect, as more people think they've seen a UFO or UFOs and are then more open to having an actual sighting. Keep watching the skies! The next lot might be genuine.

East Orange, New Jersey A Round Orange Light Hovering

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Today my husband and I were driving on Tremont Avenue in East Orange. We saw two 2 acquaintances and stopped to talk. As we talked, they kept gazing into the sky. My husband asked why and he was told that for the past month, they have observed a round orange light hovering in the sky (southeast towards Nwk Airport) which could be seen day or night. One asked if my husband had seen it. He replied no. I personally have not seen anything, however we live near Veterans Hospital and sometimes hear helicopter traffic. I have noticed that the dogs in our area were losing their minds last month with uncontrolled barking. Our dog participates, and although he barks at anything walking near the house, this bark is different and not that of fire trucks or ambulances racing by, its all weird.
I neglect to give identity, as these individuals are well known in our community.

Nuneaton, Warwickshire UK UFO Triangular In Shape

Weather Conditions: A few clouds covering parts of the sky.
Description: Bright light spotted hovering in air for a good 30 mins or so at 7pm ish. At first we could just see 1 light but when zoomed in it gave off different colours.
After trying to focus the lens I noticed it looked triangular shape. It was moving very slowly put staying in the same area. We filmed it with 2 camera phones 3.2m/p and 5m/p the better camera produced a pulsing effect. Were also viewing it with a night vision scope and binoculars. We seen what looked like helicopters flying around now and then nearby as the distinctive lights gave us the impression that's what they were. We noticed it was getting lower but this was very, very slow. The craft was near the location of the quarry next to farmers field which I know off the back of my hand. We popped next door for a short time, came back about 9.45 and it had gone.

Moon Sized UFO Hovers Over The City Of Hull, England UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Driving home from work I stopped at the traffic lights on the edge of the city. Looking above the buildings I could see what I first thought was a huge moon, luminous, orange or sepia coloured. It hung in the sky and was so big that I thought it was a barrage balloon lit up by lights.
As the traffic lights changed I moved off but could see the shape still above the buildings (to my right). I turned right but the object suddenly went off moving at such a speed as to cause me to think I'd not seen it in the first place. Was it a UFO, certainly it was unidentified and several other people appear to have seen it (including a TV presenter) that evening but no mention of it appeared in the local newspaper. The image will stay with me forever.

Eyewitness Account: I was on our patio last night around 6:30pm and this very large bright light in the sky was hovering. The shape was sphere-like with colored lights circling it. (blue, red and yellow). It was hovering for about 20 minutes, then it started to move straight up slowly into the clouds. I ran upstairs to find my husband and he saw it too from our bedroom window. I asked him if weather balloons had lights he said he didn't think so and was blown away by what he had seen. "We are not alone".

Northeast Baltimore, Maryland Glowing Red And Orange Object With Tail

Full Description of event/sighting: This looked like a comet. I saw one back in the eighties. But I can't say for sure what this was. It was like a star, bright white only with a fiery tail glowing red and orange and with a thin white line streaking behind the fire. It was moving fast but not as fast as a shooting star. It was moving much slower then a shooting star. It came out of the northern sky and flew to the south. It was high in the night sky when I first saw it. I watched it for about five or ten seconds while it dropped in altitude then it seemed to burned out and was no longer visible. I don't remember seeing any clouds in the sky so I can't estimate the altitude. The sky was dark and mostly clear.

Buckfast And Plymouth Sound Strange Light Disappears And Then Reappears

Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.
Hi, Myself and two work colleges saw a strange moving white light on the way back from Exeter this evening. We sighted it at 8pm around Buckfast and it followed the A38 to around the Plympton turn off where it got a lot smaller as it sped off and incredible speed (turning blue/green as it did). We though it was a helicopter as first but it began to move toward and away from us extremely quick and we heard no noise from it. It dived down to tree level and back up again. It had no turning arc it just changed direction.
It then re-appeared over the Plymouth sound direction and moved slowly toward Mount Batten. I called my wife and she saw it from Home (Staddiscombe) as it hung stationary over Mount Batten. My Apprentice filmed the light on his mobile phone, I have asked him to upload it to facebook. Four of us saw this and we all agreed this was not manmade object we have ever seen. I just watched the Lincolnshire UFO video online for the first time. It was very similar to light we saw. Regards.

Eke, Belgium Two Red/Orange Fireballs

Shape of Objects: Round without tail.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Two red/orange fireballs without tail moving from SSW to NNE. Very bright light, like a rounded candle flame that just got lit. Moving with a continuous speed, horizontally in the night sky. At one time, the second object seemed to stand still for a couple of seconds, moving a bit from left to right and back. And then continued it's way afterwards to disappear in the far sky.
My girlfriend saw two or three tinier balls underneath the second object. I didn't catch those one's. We were standing two streets away from each other.
Can't have been a plane because I saw them from pretty up close, and these weren't the landing lights of a plane !
The object was bigger compared to a plane that would be at the same distance and height.

Williamsburg Virginia A Silver Diamond Shaped UFO A Burst Of Light And It Was Gone

Brian, I think I saw another UFO yesterday – Silver Diamond Shape then there was a bright burst of light and it was gone. It was at least 3 miles up and small. Now, keep in mind president Obama is here in my neighborhood and that is exactly where I saw it. Could you tell me if anyone else has reported anything in Williamsburg Virginia yesterday about 3:00 pm? They sky has been so clear – no chem. trails either

Leasowe Wirral Merseyside UK Round Bright Orange Object
Date: February 6 and 8, 2009
Time: 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Leasowe Wirral Merseyside.

Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round then oval.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Looking out towards West Kirby, myself my fiancée, my father and my mother watched the same round bright orange object that was described by somebody from the West Kirby area last month. It was very bright then would dim to the size of a pin head then flare up again. We used night vision binoculars to look at it and could see a dark dot in the middle that would roll around it, it was like a white pool ball with the dot in the middle rolling over and over. The second night it seemed to break in to two then reform itself, then change to an ovular shape and back again. Both sightings lasted between half an hour and 45 minutes.I will keep you updated if it comes back again.
