We received the following report in 2013, but the events described occurred in 1969.

As a boy, I enjoyed spending time at the Dartmouth Children's Library during the summer holiday. To get to the library from my house, the shortest walk was through the Dartmouth Commons through a graveyard. One beautiful clear summer day, as I was walking alone through the graveyard, I saw a dog sitting next to a grave marker by the main path. Being a sucker for petting dogs, I turned aside to see this dog. The dog was a very old Springer Spaniel. As I bent to pet the dog, I felt uneasy because the dog , staring at me , didn't move or make any sound. Afraid that the dog might snap at me , I pulled back and started walking away. Wary that the dog might snap at my heels, after four paces ,I looked back to watch the dog, but there was no dog ! A perfectly clear sunny day, no dog, no movement, nothing ! Curious, I moved back to see if the dog was moving away or hiding behind a grave marker but found nothing. Startling stuff for a ten-year old, not a SCARY story, just a small but true tale of something not normal.
