We received the following report in 20011, but the events described occurred in years past:

"I lived in an apartment on XXXX Aberdeen Street in downtown Fredericton, NB. There was a young girl who lived in the apartment across from us who told us she had seen the ghost of a lady. This old lady Mrs. A had lived in the apartment beside theirs before she had died. It had just been a few years since Mrs. A had died and they knew her when she was living. I didn't, I had moved in to the building after Mrs. A had passed. I suspected that the young girl was just imagining this ghost story as a way of dealing with the death of her neighbor. Maybe her story was influenced by her mother and or other people she wanted attention from.

One night I was watching tv and I felt a strong tap on the top of my head. Strong enough that I still felt some minimal pain after a few moments. Initially I had thought that a bird must have flown inside our apartment because I left the balcony door open for my dog to wander in and out when she wanted.  I got up and looked around for the bird or possibly a very big bug that I though could have landed on my head and then taken off again. But there was nothing and no other open windows for whatever I felt to escape. I closed the balcony door, thinking that if something had flown in I didn't want another bird to come in and if I closed it nothing could get out, therefore I would see what did this to me.  Well after a few minutes I still didn't hear or see any animals in the house, but I got a news paper to shoe it away if I missed it earlier. Not long after I sat back down on the couch I felt another tap on the head, but this time it was much stronger and I am quite sure I said "Hey" and I felt my head, rubbing it to ease the soreness. I looked around the room to see if there was a bumble bee or bird again, but then I caught a glance of myself in the glass doors of our tv stand across the room. A small handful of hair was standing straight up on my head. It looked like someone was holding my hair up. My hair was longer than shoulder length and there was no way static would allow it to stand straight up like that.  This was the end of my experience.

For the whole evening I just keep replaying the scenario in mind, and finally I concluded that maybe the girl was right, Mrs. A was haunting our building. I was surprisingly not afraid, I just could hardly believe what I had seen and felt. I told my boyfriend when he returned from the night shift and he said, "Mrs. A doesn't like you, she is jealous of you because she likes me." He told me he felt her presence many times on the couch in the same place and that he felt her spirit was playful and kind.

Now I believe the young girls story of seeing Mrs. A.  Although it could have been another spirit, the building was old and before it was an apartment, I heard it was a hotel and a school house. After this experience I do believe in ghosts for sure."
