We received the following report in January 2011. Our thanks goes out to the witness for sharing this experience with us."I was doing a bit of online research when I came across your article on Seminary House at Acadia University, and thought that I might have something to add to the story. I have lived in Seminary, and have had some interesting encounter with the ghost who resides there.
On numerous occasions, my roommate and I had heard someone walking outside our door in the early hours of the morning. At first we assumed it was just people wandering the halls. However, on a couple of occasions, we had checked the hall, and there was never anyone there. As well, one night, we heard someone pacing outside the door, and jiggling the handle, as if to try and get into the room. When we checked, there was no one there, though the sounds had continued until just moments before we had opened the door.
On another occasion, I had woken up in the middle of the night because I heard something strange. Our window was broken, and the screws from it had been sitting on the sill. It had sounded as thought someone had been using the screws or something similar to carve into the window, where many previous tenants had carved their names. When I turned around to see what was going on by the window, the sound had stopped, and resumed as soon as I had settled down into my bed. This continued until I had managed to fall asleep again.
Another night, my roommate was working alone in the room, while I had been in class. She claimed that it had felt like someone was standing in the room with her, though she had the door closed and no one had been there. She also claims that she heard something that sounded like someone sighing.
On a fourth occasion, I had come back to the room in the middle of the night after hanging out with friends in another part of the building. As I had been getting ready for bed, I thought I saw something strange over by the door. When I looked again, I could see a dark figure standing by the door. It was there for maybe ten seconds, and then disappeared. Needless to say, I was nervous to be in the room alone at night after that.
We never could figure out why so much seemed to be happening in our room. Though we are in the same area as the woman hung herself, we aren't the closest, and the room has no connection to the haunting at all. We were just thankful that the ghost never seemed to want to harm us."
