Nova Scotia

Tracadie Lake is located near the village of  Monastery. It is a small body of water overlooking St. George’s Bay, that is rumoured to be haunted by evil spirits (Native lore) and/or the spirits of the soldiers killed in the battle at Beausejour in 1758. The British soldiers had camped near the lake prior to the battle. It is believed that the spirits are returning to the place they last stayed before being killed in battle, hence the nickname "Ghost Lake."
