Quebec

One of our readers kindly shared some past experiences from the Gaspe Pennisula area:

"In my family, everybody believes in ghosts, maybe it's because we are 90% native Indian blooded. (montagnais, north east coast of Quebec; around Baie Comeau right across from the gaspesian peninsula)

Anyways, when my maternal grandma was alive, she kept saying that her second husband kept pulling her toes to wake her up in the morning, she told my mom he kept doing it even after his death.

My dad went to the washroom in the middle of the night and he saw my grandma standing in front of him when all of a sudden my grandma said: Don't worry," (name deleted for privacy) like she was talking to my mom, "I just wanted to say goodbye". My mom at the same time was asleep in her bedroom, she woke up screaming on top of her lungs:  "Mom!!!" Maybe 10 minutes later the phone rang, and it was my uncle he just said: she's gone...(meaning our grandma)

My dad is renown in the family to see ghosts; dead or alive. Maybe 10 years ago, I called my dad's house and he said "Hi (name deleted for privacy), how's everything?" My parents didn't have a caller I.D. so I guess you can imagine my surprise, I just said: What the f. dad, how did you know it was me?

He just said very casual about it, "Oh! I just saw you standing over there, behind our rocking chair so when the phone rang I guessed it was you calling and stop swearing or else I'll tell your mom to wash your mouth with a bar of soap!" At the time I was living far away and he knew I was not physically there. He saw my living "ghost!"
