Nova Scotia

The following report was sent in to us in 2011, but the actual date of the experience was 1994.

"I was at the Ross Thompson House ( a museum) with my friends after school and we were exploring the museum as the rest of the tour group had gone on elsewhere. We were very interested in seeing the area in the basement where they used to churn butter as opposed to staring at the numerous barrels of dry goods in the store area.

I went first and went around the corner to the stairs (more like a ladder) that led to the basement and when I got to the top of the stairs I looked down and saw a man lying at the bottom of the stairs in period dress with a doctor and nurse? (they were all in period dress but so where all the employees of the museum) kneeling over him.

The doctor had an old fashioned doctor's bag next to him and was looking into it for something, just then i must have made a noise because the nurse? turned to look at me and said something but I couldn't hear any words, I just sensed that I should go get help.  I had thought that a staff member had fallen off the very steep steps and injured themselves.  I turned and went no more than 3 steps and ran into one of my friends who wanted to go help we turned around and went back and there was nothing there.  No evidence that anyone had previously been there either.

I asked around but no one knew anything about it, when we went downstairs I had a sickening feeling and had to leave, there was no one down there.  I hadn't been gone from the corridor that led to that staircase at all so no one could've come up and no one had gone down and none of the staff knew anything about anyone falling and getting hurt.

I have talked to many people who have had different apparitions in that same museum and we are all pretty sure that it is probably because the entire museum has been restored to the period settings that it probably draws the energy.  I have since had many experiences in my own home (despite 6 moves each home has held experiences)  and am not sure if that is related to the above incident or not."

Please have a look at the official website of the Ross Thompson House and do pay a visit (ghosts or no ghosts) if possible. It is important we all help to support sites of historic importance such as this one.
