We received the following report in November 2009, however the events described occurred in the 1970s.

"This event happened to me twice, about four years apart. The event occurred in my bedroom, in an old family farmhouse that is now about 100 years old. The event occurred about thirty years ago. The first time occurred when I was about 15 years old- I was reading a book late at night, and decided to turn out my light by my bed and go to sleep. Suddenly my bed started creaking and groaning, and lifting up off the ground. I quickly reach over to the light and turned it on and looked under the bed- thinking my sister was playing a joke on me. The bed stopped moving as soon as the light came on, and when I looked underneath, there was nothing there. I went into the hall and to my parents, and sisters rooms- they were all asleep. And when I asked them about it in the morning they denied doing anything. I went back to bed that night- leaving my light on. The next morning I crawled under the bed to see what kind of strength would be needed to lift it up off the ground- a lot- as it was a very old antique oak bed. I figured the 'entity' had lifted my bed up only a couple of inches off the ground- enough for it to creak and groan and shift around a bit. I slept with my light on for several nights after.... Then about four years later when I was nineteen the very same event happened- in the same room and in the same bed, and about the same time at night too. This time I had a new puppy, and the puppy was asleep by my bedroom door which was closed so nobody could come in or out, and the puppy remained asleep (so much for my great canine protector!). This time I wasn't as freaked out as the first time- but it still got my heart racing- and I still didn't want to turn out my light for several nights afterwards.... My father was an avid collector of antiques so perhaps it was a ghost of one of those items- or perhaps a mischievous ancestor as we are fourth generation in that house, and it was built by my family. No other ghostly experiences occurred in that house. However, one weird incident occurred where the house woke up my family to get them out when a small fire started in the basement. My father was woken by a ringing door bell in the middle of the night- got up to see who was at the door- saw no one- then smelled smoke coming from the basement- and woke everyone up and went to the neighbours- then when the firefighters arrived, the said the basement was full of thick grey smoke- but the fire was put out- as it had burned through water pipes overhead- and also burned through electric wires that had set off the doorbell? So the house woke people up and then put out the fire.....
