Jakes Crossing Pub

David James “Slim” Kirkpatrick lived in the basement of the pub (formerly known as the Port Moody Arms Hotel) with his trusty four-legged companion Jimmy Joe, as the building’s aged, unofficial caretaker.

His death, which came after a lengthy illness, saddened the staff and patrons of the place, and since that time, odd events have taken place there.

Many of the staff have experienced activities which seemed directed at them personally - such as the opening of refrigerator doors that had just been shut, or machines suddenly turning on by themselves, or furniture moving, as the witness stood and observed.
